Bio

Chicago-based DJRC plays funk, soul, blues, hip hop, and jazz. Performing in clubs for more than 20 years, his current monthly residency, The Fine Time, is on the third Friday of every month at Schubas Upstairs Lounge.

Kicking off 2012 with back-to-back New Years Eve shows supporting JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound, he tirelessly performs throughout Chicago with the intent of playing good music for good people, including the sold out culinary event, Baconfest Chicago.

DJRC has been billed with a wide-range of acts, such as Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears, Umphrey’s McGee, Trombone Shorty,
Nikka Costa, Rebirth Brass Band, Orgone, The Stepkids, Alice Russell, Aloe Blacc, and Brandt Brauer Frick. Plus, the legendary Clyde Stubblefield and Dennis Coffey. In 2011, he performed at Wicker Park Music Fest, Taste of Lincoln Avenue, and a North Coast Music Fest after-party with The New Mastersounds.

Supporting Chicago’s own music scene, he’s shared bills with
JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound, Van Ghost, The Right Now, Bumpus, The Congregation, JT & the Clouds, Akasha, and the Chicago Roots Collective. DJRC regularly performs at venues throughout the city, including Lincoln Hall, Schubas, Double Door, Martyrs, Empty Bottle, The Hideout, and Abbey Pub.
